honua is a Hawaiian word for world, earth, or land. It may also mean fundamental.

kai in the Hawaiian language means sea.

We support all major booking platforms but here are few things to think about:

• Platforms like Costco, Outrigger, Booking.com do not allow you to choose a specific unit.
• Platforms like Airbnb, Vrbo and Marriott do allow you to choose a specific unit, but they charge platform fees.
• Booking direct, allows you to choose a specific unit and avoids platform fees.

Unlike many hotels, we do not charge resort fees or for parking as long as you are self-parking 1 car. If you want to use Valet parking, it costs $10 (subject to change).

We accept bookings from several rental platforms like Airbnb, Vrbo and our property management company’s website. The cancellation policies vary depending on where you did your booking from.

The Kahului (OGG) Airport is ~30 miles or 45 minutes from Honua Kai.

We have a tie up with a Turo car rental provider that we recommend. With this option you have the flexibility to pick-up or drop-off the rental at the airport or at our unit. Do let them know you are staying at Hokulani 645. You can find more information here: https://maui-luxe.com. Alternatively, you could book a rental car from the airport. A rental car is an especially good option if you plan to explore the entire island during your stay. We do provide parking with this unit.

Another option could be to book an Uber or taxi just for your trip from and to the airport. This option is preferable if you plan to stay at the resort during most of your trip. And when you do want to visit some of the closer beaches etc.
